Infant/Baby Massage
0 Comments Published February 28th, 2010 in Baby #2, Mommy Moments, Mother's Touch, SAHM Thoughts.Baby massage is not only a healthy form of child care. It also gives emotional benefits to the babies. Sabi nga sa atin “haplos ng pagmamahal” matters a lot.
Infant massage is beneficial to the baby for relaxation and for stimulation, for pain and colic relief, and for increasing the interaction (bonding) between the baby and parents. Being massaged also helps instill an awareness of healthy, loving touch that continues through their lives.
When I gave birth to Deye, I didn’t know about it. It was my mother-in-law who introduced it to me. She did the massage daily and I could say physically it really made a difference, it made her muscles firm. Deye started with her first steps just before she turned one and could walk on her own at 14 months.
Now, it’s my turn to do it to Erchee. My mom does it at times though when I’m busy with Deye. We do it before giving her a warm quick bath in the mornings. How ’bout you? Do you/Have you also do/done this to your babies?

Missed the show? No worries, I have recorded it all through out my exposure LOL! Thanks for the heads up Iris, I was able to record it.
Please click this link to watch the clip. Sorry to redirect you to another page. I can’t seem to find out why my blog/s do not show the posted video clips at all maybe it be You Tube or Imageshack or any other video/image host.
Anyway, enjoy watching! Too bad I wasn’t able to record the audio for my part. Our schedules won’t meet that week so they have decided that Ms. Gladys Reyes will do it instead.

Words of Affirmation. From the day she learned how to speak, I made sure she knows the proper use of simple yet meaningful words like “Love you/Love you, too”, “Thank you”, “Welcome”, and “Sorry”.
Acts of Service. Now that I have two girls, I try my level best not to lose quality time with the Ate. The day I recovered from a CSec operation, things went back to normal e.g. Giving her bath and preparing her for school and even putting her to sleep. That way, we also spend a quality time together.
Physical Touch. This act is very common for us. My eldest is one sweet little girl and that melts my heart every after disciplinary action I give her. She would hug me and say “I won’t do it again”. I know she will but the fact that she realizes her mistakes is enough.
Receiving Gifts. She’s 4. Could even hardly write her full name on a paper without my guidance so I don’t expect her to make a greeting card for me as early as this. If she would, that won’t come a surprise coz for sure she’ll have to do and finish it with my help. But you know what gave me joy last Monday? These flowers that she freshly picked from the garden.

If there’s one new favorite I could fondly call at this time or say the thing I am really eager to do is breastfeeding. I didn’t get this chance with my eldest and I really wanna do it this time. Unfortunately, I lost the first day breastfeeding Erchelle coz they advised me to get enough rest first as I had lost a lot of stored energy in my system just before I was able to give birth.
{Sorry I had to blur and put some effects on the image}
I admit, I still have to know a lot more about breastfeeding
