Madeline

Today, I received the diaper bag I ordered from Baby Couture through their local dealer here in the Philippines. I love its look. The bag design. The pattern. The compartments and most of all the size. It comes with a diaper changing mat and wipes holder.

Usog. Whenever a stranger or anyone says something nice about my daughters, I always say “pwera usog”. Whenever Deye would  go out, people always notice her long eyelashes and pointed nose. I, without fail, ask them “pakilawayan po”. I know, to some it could be weird especially who were born in the 90’s but for me there’s nothing wrong if I follow the “pangontra” and that is the “laway” LOL!

Bigkis. A white piece of cloth often seen wrapped around the navel area of the baby. During Deye’s time I didn’t know what this is for. A wild guess was “maybe to keep her waist/hips in good shape” or in short para sexy especially if you have a girl until I read from a magazine that this is basically to avoid umbilical hernia. However, the wrapping of this cloth shouldn’t be too tight to avoid frequent reflux.

The rest of the myths like hamog, sinulid sa noo whenever the baby gets hiccups and gupit sa pilikmata para mahaba, um, I just laugh about them. I don’t see any relevance why these things should be practiced.

Just my thoughts…

Getting A Househelp

Getting a househelp isn’t easy. It took us a while before we got one. We tried contacting my cousin from the province first but to no avail. As much as possible we don’t want anyone we do not know personally in the house. You’ll never know what’s in their mind once they get to your house.

Glad our neighbor found one for us. We know the Househelp’s husband personally and when they came here last week, we grabbed the chance before someone else hires her.

At least now I don’t have to worry of doing the house chores (as if I do LOL!) when mom is in the school to attend to my daughter, Deye. And we don’t have to pay P400 weekly to the one who does our laundry. Such a relief! However, she won’t stay in with us coz she also got kids to look after and be with. She comes at 7am and goes at 6pm. Not bad eh?

This week’s MM theme is just in time for us. Ate Derelle “Deye” Francella welcomed her new sibling, Erchelle Freann to the real world last 18th January 2010.

Hubby Was Sick

He had a terrible cough. Despite doctor’s advise that he should at least cut down on smoking, he didn’t listen.  There were times when I caught him on cam lit numbers of  cigarettes while online. I told him to check on electronic cigarette instead and see if it would satisfy his craving. If it does, well, then good for him.

Anyway, I/We hope to see him soon. He’s just waiting for his Bahrain visa to get released so there’s no need for him to go to India for his Philippine visa application. At least he could spend those 3 days with us. He’ll be here for 2 weeks as usual and if that 3 days are spent back home, then 14 days will be less plus the traveling days.
